BUYING A CAR OR VEHICLE:
CAN ANYONE ATTEND THE AUCTION?
DO I NEED TO REGISTER? HOW DO I MAKE A BID?
- Attract the Auctioneer’s attention – usually by raising your hand
HOW MUCH MONEY DO I NEED?
- If your bid is successful, we require a £100.00 deposit on the fall of the hammer
- The balance can be paid by debit or credit card, cash or cheque
- We must have cleared funds before a vehicle can leave the auction premises
WHAT WARRANTIES DO I RECEIVE?
- We are a trade auction and everything we sell is ‘sold as seen’ without any form of warranty
WHAT IS A PROVISIONAL SALE?
- The Auctioneer may drop the hammer on your bid using the word ‘provisionally’. This means the vehicle has not reached its reserve price and we need to negotiate with the vendor to proceed further
DO YOU ONLY SELL CARS?
- No – we offer commercial vehicles at 11.00am every Tuesday. We also offer motor-cycles, scooters, trailers and caravans
- Remember though, that commercial vehicles can be subject to VAT at the current rate. We will announce at the sale if a commercial vehicle is not subject to VAT
WHAT IS AN INDEMNITY FEE?
- We check every vehicle with HPI. The indemnity fee is charged on every vehicle and guarantees you your bid price back, if the car does not come with clear title
CAN I BUY ON A NON-SALE DAY?
- Provided a vehicle has been offered for sale we can sell it on a non-sale day
DO YOU DELIVER CARS?
- Yes! We can arrange collection and delivery of vehicles for a reasonable charge
HOW OFTEN IS THE WEBSITE UPDATED? SELLING A CAR AT H&H MOTOR AUCTIONS:
HOW DO I ENTER A CAR FOR SALE?
- Pop the vehicle down to us any day during the week – during normal business hours
CAN I PUT A RESERVE ON MY CAR?
- Yes! And provided the vehicle is under 10 years old there is no charge for doing so
WILL YOU TAKE A CAR WITHOUT AN MOT?
- Yes! But the price the car achieves may be affected
DO I LEAVE MY ROAD TAX ON THE CAR?
- Depending on how much tax there is, may help to sell the car
- Under the new government rules you must be the Registered Keeper of the vehicle to surrender the disc
WHAT IF MY CAR DOESN’T SELL?
- Not every vehicle offered for sale is sold first time. Your vehicle can stay with us for a maximum of 6 sales. If it remains unsold, we will ask you to remove the vehicle and it will be subject to an ‘unsold’ fee
WHEN DO I GET PAID?
- Payment is sent out on the Friday after the vehicle is sold
DO YOU COLLECT CARS?
- Yes! We can arrange collection and delivery of vehicles for a reasonable charge
